Isaac's Empire is an ongoing piece of writing, detailing the alternate evolution of Planet Earth from a Point of Divergence in the year 1059. The story primarily concerns itself with the political machinations of a surviving Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire, which exists well past its fall date of 1453 in our universe, and has become a global superpower by the 18th century.

The TL will be introduced more thoroughly in other pages of the website, but as a rough "taster", it features an industrial revolution in the 15th century, an Islamic discovery of Australia, and surviving native American Empires on the continents that in this world are known as Johannia and Hesperidia. This is a world without the Crusades, without the Reformation, without the Enlightenment. It is, therefore, a place that is familiar in parts, and utterly different in others.
